By any measure, OSI Group’s president and chief operating officer David McDonald has had an amazing 30 year career. When he joined the company in 1987, he had just graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in animal science. He began his career as a project manager and moved steadily up the company’s ranks because of his talent, hard work and dedication. His ability to work in harmony with international governmental agencies and suppliers in a variety of countries has helped the OSI Group’s global expansion efforts. David McDonald’s diverse skillset and ability to handle technical issues has helped the company to flourish.

An Iowa native, David McDonald grew up on a farm. That provided him with a unique understanding of the processes involved with producing meat and agricultural products. His interest in biology and agriculture led him to major in animal science at Iowa State University. An excellent student, David McDonald won several awards at the school. Even after graduating, he has remained closely involved with ISU. He donates to the school’s scholarship fund, supports many of its programs and has created opportunities for many ISU graduates.
